Scarlet BLONDE

Webpage: http://www.scarletblonde.com
Location: London, Greater London, UK
Description: We have been described as 'Skunk Anansie in an ElectroPunk Blender and Goldfrapp with chainsaw guitars.
Biography: The most common advice to emerging bands and artists is "make music you love and don't just follow the herd." That's exactly what Scarlet BLONDE did when recording their first album, "Bedroom Superstars", scheduled for release in 2007.

Unlike a lot of current bands, Scarlet BLONDE draw their influences from Synth, 70's Punk, New Wave, Dance, Hip-Hop, Punk and full on Rock, mashing it together to produce a unique sound. "We record what we love to hear" says Scarlet BLONDE's Ditch GBH, "We love pop music how it used to be, when it was played by musicians rather than created by a team of producers and we just try to put a modern slant on that".

After receiving great reviews from industry panels and press and being A-listed by a number of Internet Radio stations, Scarlet BLONDE are now ready to step up to the next level. "The positivity shown by people has been overwhelming" Says DawnyVic, the bands elfin like front woman, "From random well wishers on myspace to media personalities, everyone seems to have something good to say about our music!"

Scarlet BLONDE have set up their own live event every second Friday at The Luminaire in Kilburn, London "We only book great bands to play with us, bands that inspire us and push boundaries and bands that people really should hear." Says DawnyVic, "So hopefully, our 'Scarlet BLONDE presents...' nights will gain a reputation for good fun and high quality music". It's good fun and high quality that DawnyVic and Ditch GBH strived for, ever since they met years ago.

Raised in a small peak district village on the outskirts of Sheffield, Ditch and DawnyVic spent much of their early lives creating music separately. DawnyVic, who was raised in a soundproofed telephone exchange by two old friends of Lemmy, got her first electric guitar and Marshall stack while the other girls were playing with Barbie dolls. With her brother, Robin, she cut up the local scene playing serious "Rock".

Meanwhile, Ditch began studying guitar and music theory and tinkering around in any studio that wouldn't throw him out. "We knew of each other and very much respected each other" says Ditch of those early years "But I ended up travelling and studying while Dawny focused on her band with her brother"

The 2 met again at a gig in Sheffield and before long they were finally working together, with Ditch co-producing a track for DawnyVic and Robin's new band, Dummy Head Stereo. sadly, Dummy Head Stereo split soon after. "Robin and I had grown up and moved apart musically" says DawnyVic. "It's a shame, but it happens when you start working with someone when you are so young".

Before long, Ditch and DawnyVic began writing and recording together and the songs just flowed. "It was great, we both seemed to understand what each of us were after, almost instinctively" says Ditch "If I get stuck, Dawny knows the next move and vice versa."

They now have an album of tracks ready to roll and are looking towards an exciting future. "It's a wonderful time for us, setting up our own label and talking to people to license us outside our shores, its not the traditional way to go but it gives as just as big"

Scarlet BLONDE's Album "Bedroom Superstars" will be released in 2007 by HyperMEDIA Recordings and will be available from all good online and offline music shops, and some bad ones too.

The most common advice to emerging bands and artists is “make music you love and don’t just follow the herd” That’s exactly what Scarlet BLONDE did when recording their first album, “Bedroom Superstars”, scheduled for release in 2007.

Unlike a lot of current bands, Scarlet BLONDE draw their influences from 80’s Synth, 70's Punk, New Wave, Dance, Hip-Hop, full on Rock, mashing together with catchy pop melodies to produce a unique sound.

The music they produced led to them setting up their own Label and signing a deal in Europe and the States with dPulse records.

Scarlet BLONDE's Album "Bedroom Superstars" will be released in 2007 by HyperMEDIA Recordings and will be available from all good online and offline music shops and some bad ones too.
